Our History

The ampED National Fellowship began with a conversation in Dunkin’ Donuts in the summer of 2019 between a School Board Member and a teacher who wanted a way to advocate for students beyond the classroom. One year and many conversations later the ampED National Fellowship was born.

In July of 2020, we welcomed our first cohort of ampED fellows for a two week sprint fellowship where they engaged with leaders and collaborated with each other to research and develop policy solutions to address critical concerns in education.

Today our fellowship is in its third year and has an alum network that spans 9 cities and 6 states and only continues to grow.
